Rules for Grant Recipients

  1. You must provide documentation for the expenses incurred in connection with your grant. This can include contracts, purchase orders, and receipts for materials and hired labor. We encourage the use of volunteer labor for your efforts whenever possible, but recognize that in some cases that is not appropriate, particularly when professional expertise is required. You cannot use your grant funds to pay volunteers. We do, however, strongly encourage you to report the number of volunteer hours expended in providing the services outline in your grant request.

  2. The Foundation needs photographs of work in progress, whether it is construction or an event. We do not want pictures of just the completed work, although those are also appropriate.

  3. Recognition of the Foundation is an important part of receiving this grant. When you have an event or when work is in progress, signage or literature indicating that the project is made possible with the support of the Pleasants Community Foundation is required. You may contact the St. Marys Oracle and the Pleasants County Leader for assistance in promoting the project or event. Publicity should both precede and follow the project or event.

  4. All documents supporting the completion of this grant should be compiled in booklet form and submitted to the Foundation by March 31 of the year following the year you receive your grant. In other words, if you receive a grant in January of 2017, your report and documentation must be received by the foundation on or before March 31, 2018. If you complete your grant before that deadline, please submit your documentation immediately.

  5. Any funds not expended by the deadline must be immediately returned to the Foundation. Your organization can reapply for the balance of the funds if some unforeseen difficulties preclude the full execution of your grant.

  6. Those who accept grants for organizations are personally responsible for meeting these guidelines and/or return of unexpended funds.
